OUR MISSION

Ambition is everything.

1

To maximize Jewish empowerment at the individual, communal, national, and global levels

2

To create connection, points of intersection, and community among the collective Jewish People, and between the Jewish People and our non-Jewish family and friends

3

To significantly diminish the effects of antisemitism and anti-Israel by enhancing Judaism and the Jewish People’s image throughout the world

THE PROBLEMS

Judaism and the Jewish People are facing two existential global issues.

A Jewish 'Identity Crisis'

There’s an unprecedented divide growing between Jews and their Jewish identity, and an unprecedented divide growing between Israeli and Diaspora Jews, as well as religious and secular Jews.

This is producing disastrous consequences for Jewish communities and organizations, the State of Israel, and the Jewish People as a whole.

Antisemitism and Anti-Israel

Antisemitism and anti-Israel are quickly spiraling out of control across the world, with Jews inadvertently propagating these movements in some cases.

Furthermore, organizations claiming to combat antisemitism and anti-Israel are unaligned, non-scalable, fiscally challenged, highly bureaucratic, simply ineffective, or a combination thereof.

THE INSIGHT

A Global Growth Engine for Jewish Empowerment

At the heart of both of these global problems (a Jewish “identity crisis” and antisemitism) is authentic Jewish empowerment, which encourages us Jews — and, by extension, our non-Jewish family and friends — to proudly participate in our culture and be firm in our respect and admiration for our historical legacy.

When we strengthen Jewish empowerment, we will strengthen our Jewish identity, which will strengthen our image in the world.

This, in turn, will greatly diminish the effects and anguish of antisemitism and anti-Israel sentiment.

... having an internal state of Jewish empowerment influences how — or, in some cases if — people live a proactive Jewish life.

THE CONTEXT

Why Jewish empowerment?

Source: “Jewish empowerment: developing language to aim higher” (eJewish Philanthropy)

When people are empowered, they act with great authenticity, intentionality, self-confidence, and self-activation.

Empowerment might be expressed as leadership, expertise, commitment, and/or cultural competence.

Empowerment occupies an important place on a spectrum of Jewish involvement, ranging from outreach to personal Jewish sovereignty.

THE REALITY

But it turns out...

… an increasing number of Jews are disempowered nowadays. Why is this the case?

The types of Judaism they've been exposed to do not align with their interests, desires, values, expectations, or some combination thereof.

The vast majority of Jewish organizations lack the capabilities, bandwidth, know-how, and scale to effectively engage them on a consistent and continuous basis.

Misinformation, propaganda, gossip and hearsay, rumors, incomplete information, and antisemitic or anti-Israel messages (both subtle and overt)

THE CHALLENGE

A Global Growth Engine

Yes, it’s true: many Jewish organizations have tried this “Jewish empowerment” approach, but without worldwide scale, and without the most important part: their own technologies.

This is where the global growth engine comes into play: Using our own proprietary technology, we can create and scale premium products, services, and experiences for the Jewish world — all designed to maximize authentic Jewish empowerment and make the engine increasingly successful, scaleable, and self-sustainable!

Technology isn’t just a nice word to use; it’s how the most amount of data is collected to make the most strategic decisions, how every industry functions today, and how change-making happens on a global scale. Why should the Jewish world be any different?

A global growth engine, powered by scalable technology, allows us to take on a challenge that no other Jewish organization has successfully solved for: Jews across the world think and act in different Jewish ways, to different degrees, in different languages, with different desires and preferences, across different cultures, customs, affiliations, and ages.

A technology-powered global growth engine enables us to accommodate all of these differences efficiently, effectively, and at scale — in order to empower every Jew across the world to authentically connect with and deepen their individual Jewish identity!

And, in doing so, it positions us to strengthen Jewish communities, Jewish Peoplehood, Jewish nationhood, and relationships with our non-Jewish family and friends!

OUR MODEL

Free + Premium

To juggle between making our products, services, and experiences the most widely accessible, and generating revenues — so that we can continue to innovate and become financially self-sustainable — we’ve opted for a “freemium” model.

A combination of the words “free” and “premium,” freemium means that basic features of a product or service are available to users at no cost, while supplemental or advanced features are available for a reasonable fee.

OUR STRUCTURE

A Different Type of Jewish Organization

To realize our ambitious vision and mission, we have to do much more than build great, scalable technology. We have to build a new kind of Jewish organization.

The Front End

On the front end, this new kind of Jewish organization must unlock the Internet’s scale and democratizing power, and empower individuals and communities to “live their best Jewish lives.”

This is why we’re combining the power of brand and platform to creatively promote and strengthen Jewish empowerment worldwide.

By brand, we mean a pervasive and particular identity or image that is known for premium products and remarkable experiences; fresh, new ideas; exciting discoveries; meaning and value; connection; and community.

By platform, we mean a growing “marketplace” that features unlimited third-party “channels,” such as Jewish organizations, thought leaders, creatives, innovators, and influencers; welcomes a wide variety of viewpoints, perspectives, and ideas; and allows people to connect with the Jewish world’s creators and innovators.

While every Jewish organization is competing against each other and jostling for position in the Jewish world, we’re building a global Jewish empowerment brand platform for all of them to thrive!

The Back End

On the back end, this new kind of Jewish organization must use sound and emerging business practices, and vigilantly work toward self-sustainability.

As such, we combine the best of both worlds of a private company and non-profit organization to create the most impact, in the most time-efficient and resource-efficient ways.

Our nonprofit arm is responsible for all human expenses — the Jewish People’s “best and brightest” professionals — such as employees, agencies, freelancers and contractors, influencers, content producers, Israel government relations, and partnerships.

Our private company is tasked with covering all non-human costs, like technology infrastructure, affiliates, advertising, marketing, branding, and performance-related bonuses and stock options for employees.

The private company also kicks back a percentage of its revenues, making our nonprofit arm completely self-sustainable in five years’ time!

To be clear: Our private company and nonprofit are two separate organizations, with two separate bank accounts, boards of directors, etc.

OUR SECRET INGREDIENT

How We Make This Dream a Reality

“We always pump our money back into the community. We also need to pump our talent back into the community.”

— Ben Freeman, Author and Jewish Educator

Unfortunately, the current Jewish workplace does not typically attract the Jewish People’s “best and brightest” at every level of an organization.

“People are the most important assets of organizations, yet many of our Jewish workplace cultures do not reflect this important truth,” according to Gali Cooks, Executive Director of Leading Edge.*

We are on a mission to make working in the Jewish world remarkably enjoyable, creatively challenging, deeply meaningful, highly collaborative, extraordinarily innovative, growth-oriented, and equally rewarding for all employees.

Why? Because we believe that, to solve the Jewish world’s biggest problems, we must attract and retain the Jewish People’s “best and brightest” professionals — and put them in a position to work together on solving the Jewish world’s biggest problems!

Many of the Jewish People’s “best and brightest” professionals currently work in hi-tech, finance, and other major industries. This means we have to recruit and retain them through four primary vehicles: four primary vehicles:

Hyper-Competitive Compensation

We offer salaries, benefits, and the like competitive with other hi-tech firms.

Autonomy & Agility

We welcome workplace flexibility, creative freedom, and work-life harmony.

Development & Growth

We invest in ongoing, self-regulated employee development, and favor in-house promotion.

Capitalist Kibbutz

All employees receive stock options in our private company, and other performance-related perks.

A message from Joshua:

Once upon a time, I was the least-likely candidate to conceive Global Jewish Future. I was born and raised in a Reform Jewish household in Los Angeles. But as I grew older, I became exponentially uninterested in any form of Judaism.

Then, in 2013, just before my 24th birthday, I reluctantly took my Taglit-Birthright Israel trip — only because it was free. It was my first time in Israel and my first real exposure to Israeli culture, society, and history.

It was also the first time in my life that I felt proud to be Jewish and a true love of the Jewish People, both past and present. And it was also the first time I saw Judaism as a core part of my identity and future.

So, halfway through this 10-day trip, I called my parents to tell them I loved the trip, and Israel, so much, that I am not boarding the airplane back to Los Angeles.

Instead, I started building a life in Israel and became a dual American-Israeli citizen. I’ve been living in Tel Aviv ever since.

In 2013, I began discovering the value of Judaism — both for Jews past, present, and future, and for our value to the greater world.

I also started to realize the extraordinary challenges that Judaism and the Jewish People face, which served as the impetus for Global Jewish Future.

However, if there is anything I have learned while living in Israel and being an Israeli citizen since 2013, it is that opportunity often exists in adversity.

This notion is nothing new to Jews, and it is only fitting that we are tasked, yet again, with writing (and in some cases, rewriting) a manual for our immediate and long-term future amidst such challenges!

I understand that not all of us can or even want to dedicate their lives to the Jewish future.

But I am confident that there are more than enough of us who can lead the charge, while our fellow Jewish family and friends — as well as our non-Jewish family and friends who appreciate and support us — will chip in what, when, and where they can.

Wherever you fall on this spectrum, I am optimistic that you will join us in cherishing our impeccable ancestry, kickstarting global solidarity amongst the Jews of today, and ultimately paving an exhiliarating path for the Jewish People for generations to come!

OUR MOTIVATION

Why We're Doing This

We care deeply about the Jewish historical legacy and want to do our part in continuing the amazing Jewish story — not just Judaism and the Jewish People's surviving, but our thriving.

We are troubled by a variety of negative-trending problems (i.e. Jewish disengagement, antisemitism) that are quickly becoming worse across the world.

The existing Jewish “industry” has collectively demonstrated an incapability and incompetence to solve these problems on a global scale.

We subscribe to the Jewish wisdom: “If not us, who? If not now, when?”

We believe Judaism enhances people’s lives and continues to make the world a better place.

We imagine a world where Judaism, the Jewish People, and Israel are a growing source of interest, excitement, and engagement — both for Jews and non-Jews across the world, for generations to come!

Global Jewish Future is a private organization on a mission to:

1) Maximize Jewish empowerment at the individual, communal, national, and global levels

3) Diminish the effects of antisemitism by enhancing Judaism and the Jewish People’s image

We are completely independent and do not have any backers or partners that push us toward specific agendas, biases, political viewpoints, religious preferences, or otherwise!

Our goal is to deliver the most comprehensive and diverse Jewish and Israel experience, through premium products that scale worldwide.

NEGEV is our first product and public-facing brand. It’s a smartphone and tablet app (Apple and Android) that offers an incredibly diverse experience of Judaism and Israel, all in one place, so you can easily immerse yourself in the Jewish world, according to your passions and interests.

Global Jewish Future Inc. is a private company, legally established in the USA, with a subsidiary in Israel. This entity is financially responsible for all non-human expenses, such as technology infrastructure, distribution, affiliates, advertising and marketing, branding, and providing our workforce with
performance-based bonuses and stock options.

We also have a nonprofit arm, which is a separate legal entity. This arm is financially responsible for all human-related expenses, such as payroll, contractors, agencies, etc.

The two organizations have completely separate bank accounts, boards of directors, etc.

On the investment side (our private company), we periodically launch fundraising rounds and open them up to accredited investors (depending on country of citizenship) on a first come, first serve basis.

To be updated about our next investment round, please fill out this form!

For tax-deductible contributions, we fundraise on an ongoing basis, as we continue to build out our team of what we call the Jewish People’s “best and brightest” professionals across the world.

Interested in donating? Please click here or contact us if you’d like to make a significant donation of $1,000+ USD.

The short answer is: Yes, you can invest and donate!

Investment requires people in certain countries to be an “accredited investor,” which we check for if/when you show interest in one of our investment rounds.

There are no thresholds or barriers for tax-deductible donations.

The upsides of investing are a positive and impressive return on your investment. We’re aiming for at least a 7.5x return in a few years’ period.

The downsides of investing are that investments are risky. There’s no guarantee you’ll make your money back, even when investing in well-known companies and well-established industries.

The risks are much greater when it comes to investing in startups, which are high-risk, high-reward all the way through: for founders, employees, their family members, and for investors large and small.

We are a startup on an extremely ambitious mission, and success is far from guaranteed. You should not invest any funds unless you can afford to lose your entire investment.

If, however, you share our belief that Global Jewish Future can grow its financial impact with its mission impact, and you want to be a part of what we are building, then it might be worth a shot!

Absolutely, please contact us and we’ll be happy to send you:

1) Our entire business plan

2) Our 5-year financial outlook

3) Our 5-year budget

Most Jewish organizations heavily focus on what we can call “a Jewish audience.” Of course, a Jewish empowerment brand is, first and foremost, for Jews.

But, if we only go after Jewish audiences, we miss out on the crucial opportunity to enhance Judaism and the Jewish People’s image in the greater world.

This is why our strategy is designed to attract, engage, excite, and empower both Jews and our non-Jewish family and friends.

Our research suggests that, between Jewish and non-Jewish audiences interested in Judaism and Israel, there are more than 143 million people across the world who are in our total addressable market.

Most Jewish organizations are “channels” — a medium for specific information, services, experiences, etc. This results in limited offerings, viewpoints, etc.

In the Jewish world, “channels” are individual Jewish organizations, Jewish media outlets, thought leaders, influencers, etc.

We are a platform, which allows us to (1) feature and promote virtually unlimited “channels,” and (2) accommodate dozens of offerings, viewpoints, etc.

Additionally, we take a global approach, whereas most Jewish organizations are locally, regionally, or nationally focused.

We are an Israeli startup, founded in 2023 and headquartered in Tel Aviv, without any specific political or religious affiliations or commitments.

Global Jewish Future was founded by Joshua Hoffman, who was born and raised in Los Angeles, and moved to Israel in 2013.

He is also the founder of IZZY – Stream Israel, as well as the author of three books: “Reimagining Israel,” “The Future of Jewish,” and “Journeys of the Jewish Spirit.”
